Front lower control arm bushing designed for 1963-1982 Chevrolet Corvette (C2 and C3). This one-piece kit replaces worn or deteriorated lower control arm bushings to restore proper suspension alignment, reduce unwanted movement, and improve steering response. Molded from durable elastomer material with a corrosion-resistant metal sleeve, the bushing provides long-lasting performance and helps maintain factory ride characteristics. Ideal for restoration projects, routine maintenance, or performance upgrades where precise control arm location and reduced vibration are important.
Features:
- Fitment: 1963-1982 Chevrolet Corvette (front lower control arm, 1-piece kit).
- Durable elastomer construction with a metal inner sleeve for strength and longevity.
- Restores proper suspension alignment and steering responsiveness.
- Reduces vibration and noise by eliminating worn, loose control arm movement.
- Direct replacement for factory lower control arm bushing — ideal for restorations and repairs.
- Easy to press in with common workshop tools; resists oil and road contaminants.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 1-2 hours
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground, engage parking brake, and safely raise the front end. Support with jack stands.
- Remove the wheel to access the lower control arm assembly.
- Unbolt and detach the lower control arm from the frame and steering knuckle. Use a ball joint separator if necessary to free the ball joint.
- Remove the control arm from the vehicle and clean mounting bores to remove rust and debris.
- Press out the old bushing using a hydraulic press or a dedicated bushing removal tool. Protect the control arm with appropriate adapters to avoid damage.
- Prepare the new bushing by lightly lubricating the outer surface with a silicone-based lubricant or soap solution.
- Using a press or installation tool, carefully press the new bushing into the control arm bore until fully seated. Ensure correct orientation and avoid cocking the bushing.
- Reinstall the control arm in the vehicle, reconnecting the ball joint and mounting hardware. Do not fully torque fasteners until the vehicle is at ride height (to avoid preloading bushings).
- Lower the vehicle to the ground and torque all control arm fasteners to factory specifications with a torque wrench.
- Perform a wheel alignment after installation to ensure proper steering and tire wear.
