This front upper ball joint (right/left hand) is a direct-fit replacement for 1997–2011 Cadillac and Chevrolet vehicles. Designed to secure the steering knuckle to the control arm, the sealed POM bearing delivers smooth articulation, reduced play, and long-lasting performance under road stress. Built for durability and reliability, the unit restores proper suspension geometry, improves steering response, and helps prevent uneven tire wear. Its sealed design keeps contaminants out and grease in, minimizing maintenance and extending service life.
Features:
- Fits 1997–2011 Cadillac and Chevrolet front upper (right and left hand) applications
- Sealed POM bearing for low-friction, smooth articulation and extended life
- Direct-fit replacement to restore suspension alignment and steering precision
- Helps reduce vibration, eliminate play, and prevent premature tire wear
- Durable construction resists corrosion and road contaminants for reliable performance
- Easy to install with common shop tools; ideal for restoration or routine suspension maintenance
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 60-120 minutes per side (depending on tools and experience)
Instructions:
- Park on level ground, engage parking brake, loosen wheel lug nuts slightly.
- Raise vehicle and support securely on jack stands. Remove the wheel.
- Spray fasteners with penetrating oil if corroded. Remove cotter pin and castle nut from the ball joint stud if present.
- Separate the ball joint stud from the steering knuckle using a ball joint separator or appropriate puller. Support the knuckle to avoid stressing brake lines.
- Unbolt or detach any control arm components necessary to access the press fit (refer to vehicle-specific service manual).
- Use a ball joint press or hydraulic press to remove the old ball joint from the control arm. Clean the bore and inspect the control arm for damage.
- Position the new sealed ball joint and press it into the control arm bore squarely using the press and correct adapters. Do not hammer directly on the joint housing.
- Reassemble the steering knuckle to the new ball joint stud, torque the nut to factory specification, and install a new cotter pin if required.
- Reinstall any control arm components removed earlier and torque all fasteners to manufacturer specs. Refit the wheel and lower the vehicle.
- With vehicle on the ground, torque wheel lug nuts to specification. It is recommended to have a wheel alignment performed after replacing suspension components.
